Nora P - 5 Months Old!

Five months already? Time is truly flying.  We didn't have a doctor appointment this month so I don't have any new stats, but Omar swears she has doubled in size in the past month.  I don't know about that, but she certainly does seem to have become more of a baby and less of a blob.  Her personality is really starting to develop and she continues to be a super sweet, smiley, happy girl.

I think her baby blues are here to stay!
She offers up the best HUGE gummy smiles whenever you
look at her
She learned how to roll over and is super-proud
of herself
She is learning to sit up....
And is BEYOND proud of herself
She cheered on her first National Champions. Good thing we have
FSU in the family as it is doubtful she will ever get this chance
with Georgia Tech (go ACC!)
It is really fun to start to get to know this little person. Her personality is really emerging and we are more in love with this sweet girl every single day.

Sisters

EJ has turned into a better Big Sister than I could ever hope.  Perhaps I am just remembering how mean I was to my little sister, and perhaps we have some of that ahead of us, but so far she has embraced her role beautifully and seems to truly love her little sidekick.  I got some cute pictures of the girls recently, and an adorable video of EJ serenading Nora. Love them!

Nora meets her Great-Grandfather

This was such a special trip. My sister and I drove down to Crystal River to take Nora to meet her great-grandfather. Omar couldn't come so he stayed home with EJ, which was a shame but it was also nice to get to introduce Nora to her extended Wilcox-family without the distraction of the Tiny Tornado.

My grandfather (the original Everett) turns 96 this year.  He has led an amazing life and is so special to all of us. He has been living in a nursing home for the past 6 months or so, and recently has gotten weaker (physically - mentally he is still rocking & rolling and flirting up the nurses like a champ) and rarely comes out of his room.  But they have had an outbreak of the flu in the facility so I didn't feel comfortable taking Nora in since she hasn't had all her shots yet.

It's amazing what motivation a new baby provides.  =)   Since we couldn't come in, Papa got into a wheelchair and came out to us, the first time in quite a while he has done so.  He seemed thrilled to meet her and I will never forget the visit.
Pops imparts 95 years of wisdom on the newest addition to the Wilcox family
We also got to spend time with my dad (who was also in town to visit Papa) and journeyed down to Clearwater for a night to introduce Nora to my Aunt Barbara, Uncle Fred, Cousin Fleming and her family, and Cousin Josh.  I absolutely adore this side of my family, they are so much fun and I don't get to spend nearly enough time with them.  We had a blast and I hope they get up to Atlanta to see us soon, I miss them!

Aunt Merrill is always entertaining!
Meeting her Great-uncle Ronnie (Pops' younger brother)
More extended Wilcox family! Uncle Ronnie with his daughter Carole
and grandson Charlie. Nora was a huge hit!
I am so incredibly lucky to have had this very special man in my life for so long, and it makes me amazingly happy to have been able to introduce my girls to him.  I wish we had 95 more years with him, but the reality is that we don't, and so I cherish these moments even more.

Nora P - Four months old!

Rocking her sweet Christmas PJs for her picture.

I am embarrassingly late posting Nora's 4-month update. In my defense, due to the holidays, we couldn't schedule her 4 month appointment until January 8th, so that has a lot to do with it.  But either way, I apologize for my tardiness!

Nora's fourth month of life was filled with all kinds of fun, including her first Thanksgiving, her first trip out-of-state, and her first Nadi-family vacation!  She continues to be a very chill, happy kid who rarely cries and has started offering up the best gummy smiles in response to just about anything.  EJ is really evolving into a great big sister and has started to really express interest in Nora, working to get her to smile, letting me know when she needs something, telling her that she loves her, etc. It is so sweet to watch and make my heart smile.  =)

4 month stats:
Weight - 15lb 1oz (69th %)
Height - 26" (92nd %)
Head Circumference - 17.13" (94th %!!!! <--- in all previous appointments, this measurement has basically been off the chart, so we were excited to see it start to come back down a bit as her head size is something we have to monitor closely due to the hydrocephalus concerns she had at birth)
Likes:
her exercauser
her sister
watching football
Dislikes:
not much  =)
Firsts:
travel out-of-state (to Charleston)
meeting her Aunt Rebecca/Uncle Greg/Cousin Marshall & Aunt Sarah/Uncle Brendan
sleeping somewhere other than our house
trying out the exercauser & jumper
picking out a Christmas tree

Been kissing these sweet cheeks for 4 months!
